URMIA Sports Camp Insurance Program

What's a Sports Camp Liability Policy?

The URMIA Sports Camp Insurance Program (SCIP) provides low-cost, best-in-class, sports-specific insurance to camp programs for minors that are conducted in college or university facilities.

This insurance program protects the sports camp, its coaches and counselors, and the college or university venue where the camp is held against claims by individuals who could be injured as a result of participating in the camp. In addition, campers are covered with an Excess Accident Medical Policy for medical bills related to accidents that occur at the camp.

Are Other Types of Camps Eligible?

No, not at this time. This program is available for camps that focus on a particular sport.

Which Institutions Participate?

Universities and colleges may participate as members of the University Risk Management and Insurance Association at no cost to the institution.  This program is limited to institutions in the United States and is administered by Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services and RPS Bollinger.  Institutions are invited to join URMIA to offer this coverage to their third-party facility users.
