Be the Change Membership Scholarship

Purpose

The Be the Change URMIA Membership Scholarship awards a one-year URMIA membership for an institution and four of its employees who have risk management and/or insurance responsibilities.

Eligibility

The recipient may/may not be a current member of URMIA; however, preference will be given to institutions that are not URMIA members. If the awarded institution is already an URMIA member, the scholarship will renew the institution's membership for one year. URMIA peers will select the scholarship recipient.

Expectations for Recipient

Member Roster

The recipient institution will be expected to name one primary contact (voting member) to represent the institution and fill all available member seats with appropriate employees. Membership seats should be assigned within 30 days of award notification.

Reporting

At least one representative of the institution receiving the scholarship is expected to submit a testimonial in writing or via video about the benefit of URMIA membership during the second half of the membership year.

Use of Funds

The institution awarded the Be the Change URMIA Membership Scholarship will receive complimentary membership once notified of the award. URMIA will apply the scholarship automatically to the institution’s membership fee and activate the membership. If the institution wishes to continue membership at the end of the award term, the institution will be responsible for the membership fee on an annual basis.
