2025 Membership & Dues Changes

What Is Changing for 2025 URMIA Membership

URMIA assembled a Membership Task Force of institutional members in March of this year to review the association's membership and fee structure. The group's goal was to try to simplify the structure and continue to involve as many people on campus who could benefit from the URMIA member resources. Here are the approved changes:

  • Institutions Outside the US and Canada - These institutions will now receive 2 individual membership seats as part of the base membership fee instead of just 1 seat.
  • Institutions with Enrollments up to 4,000 - We combined institutions with enrollments under 2,000 with those having 2,000 to 4,000 students into one membership tier - tier 3. Institutions at the tier 3 level will receive 3 individual membership seats as part of the base membership fee. Former tier 2 institutions get an additional seat as part of the dues fee and the 2025 dues rate for institutions that were already in the tier 3 level will see a decrease in their base membership fee.
  • Two-year institutions' separate membership fee category was eliminated. Two-year institutions can now join the tier level that matches their student body count.
  • University museums, libraries, foundations, and nonprofits have been moved under tier 3 for 2025 and will have 3 individual membership seats as part of the base membership fee beginning in 2025.
  • Affiliate members who are multiple companies under one parent/umbrella organization now have the option to join URMIA under a separate membership instead of having all companies under one parent organizational membership.

2025 Membership Dues

The URMIA Board of Directors approved a slight increase in membership dues. For most dues amounts, the increase is about 2.7% which is less than the 3.4% increase in the consumer price index since the last time URMIA had a fee increase which was for the 2023 calendar year.

Steps for the Voting Member

  1. Review your membership roster to determine how many open membership seats are available. Roster details are available from the URMIA Office.

  2. Send an invitation to one individual per open membership seat. A template is on the right if that would be helpful to you.

  3. Approve invitees’ membership applications. URMIA will reach out to the Voting Member for approval to add applicants to the institution’s membership roster.

  4. That’s it! After approval, URMIA will create the applicant’s membership account and provide information on how to access URMIA member benefits. Thank you for sharing URMIA!
